Geological Museum of the Dolomites in Predazzo

Geological Museum of the Dolomites

GET TO KNOW OUR GEOLOGICAL MUSEUM TO DISCOVER THE DOLOMITES

Founded in collaboration with the Municipality of Predazzo, the Museum is specialised in the geology of the Dolomites (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and specialises in the geological study of the Val di Fiemme and the Val di Fassa, created with the aim of enhancing the local geological and naturalistic heritage and promoting its knowledge. Since 2012 it has been a territorial section of the MUSE.

The geological collections consist of more than 11,000 specimens, including the richest collection of invertebrate fossils of the Middle Triassic reefs preserved in Italy.

The Geological Museum of Predazzo is completed and enlarged on the surrounding territory with the "Dos Capèl Geological Path", which can be experienced in the summer with a beautiful walk that starts from Passo Feudo, with 13 thematic stations to immerse and guide you in the history of the world 250 million years ago .

The Geological Museum of Predazzo is spread over two floors. On the first floor you will find a window on the Dolomites, providing you with the keys to understanding them. On the basement floor, on the other hand, you will find a real journey through the Dolomites of Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa, their most important mountains from the Lagorai chain to the Catinaccio to the Marmolada. For your safety and to avoid queues or possible crowds, entry to the Museum is guaranteed only with the purchase of the online ticket, free for Trentino Guest Card holders.
